Karen completed a Master of Social Work degree from Utah Valley University and also graduated summa cum laude from Utah Valley University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Family Science.
Karen believes in client-centered therapy in helping you with healing and further growth. She has specialized training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which she learned directly from the founder, Laney Rosenzweig (www.acceleratedresolutiontherapy.com) and EMDR to guide you beyond your trauma and into the present life you desire to live. Karen is actively helping clients navigate their anxiety, depression, OCD, sexual assault, trauma, disordered eating, boundaries in relationships, sports psychology, postpartum mood disorders, gender identity and faith journeys. Karen helps couples, families, and individuals work through obstacles in order to better connect and create meaningful relationships. She has also found purpose working in a residential treatment center with teens, volunteering as a sign language interpreter, and helping with humanitarian work in Brazil and Peru.
Karen previously worked in a variety of outpatient settings where she provided general mental health outpatient services to adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families, including her much loved work with women suffering from perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (postpartum). She is a certified Family Wellness Instructor having taught courses to families in the community. She has specialized training in trauma-informed approaches including EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Trauma Focused CBT, Clinical Trauma Specialist – Individual (CCTS-I), domestic violence, SBIRT, Skills for Psychological Recovery, PMAD's with Postpartum Support International, and is IFS-Informed (Internal Family Systems).

Karen and her husband have been married for 28 years and have been raised by four children. Karen loves to hike and ski with her husband and kids. She has also joined the pickle ball craze and finds the sport super entertaining. Karen has a mindset of learning, growth and overcoming hurdles that would otherwise impede progress.
